Well, you can go surf around friendster accounts and you'll be seeing lots of idiotly puffed up cheeks, face stuck too close to the camera, upside down pictures , pictures of well, them in various poses. That is well, normal and fine with me as they can do whatever they want to, it doesn't offend anybody. There are people flashing the V - sign, like in peace or victory, or just plain cheessse. BUT, there are idiots flashing the V sign, the opposite way, which turns it into the 2 finger salute.
Before i continue, if you do not understand what is the 2 finger salute, I explain it like this :- The UK insulting version (performed with the palm inwards), performs a similar social function to "the finger". It is almost certainly unrelated in origin, as the insulting V sign is largely restricted to the UK, Ireland (and possibly commonwealth countries. It is recognised in Australia and New Zealand also), and "the finger" is traceable to Roman times. The insulting V sign is not widely recognized in the United States, with the notable exception of fans of British punk music. (Metal bands like Slipknot uses it too)
An often-repeated legend has it that the insulting version originates from around the time of the Hundred Years' War. According to the legend, the sign comes from a French threat to amputate the distinctive calloused bow fingers of captured Welsh archers, as without those fingers they would be unable to draw their bows. Likewise the Welsh might have used it themselves as a gesture of provocation (i.e. "Watch out - I've still got my fingers!"). There is little actual evidence to support these historical explanations, but the legend is certainly part of the cultural context of the sign.
These pricks obviously doesn't know that they are offending people. So let this be a notice to all them dumbasses to take down those offensive pictures. One picture my band of friends found is this one. Look around at the pictures. I wonder if she knows it's just a fucking offensive sign.
